You Should Be Following This Nat Geo Photographer On Instagram

If you have always wanted to be a photographer for the National Geographic, here’s a little bit of inspiration for you.

David Doubilet‘s awesome Instagram account is filled with his undersea travels. In addition to photography, Doubilet is also a speaker and author who spreads the word about conserving the ocean’s eco-systems.

Honoring #WorldOceanDay. Photo by @daviddoubilet. I photographed this image of stingrays, sun, sand and cloud a few days ago on #Sandbar on #GrandCaymanIsland. The stingrays gather here to greet thousands of tourists each day. The rays have become ocean ambassadors that welcome and educate people about the sea. Sandbar is an amazing stage with shifting light and soaring stingrays that fly past like flocks if birds. Photo by @daviddoubilet A harp seal pup called a white coat waits for its mother on the sea ice covering the #GulfofStLawrence. The pups are born in late February and nursed for 12-15 days before they are abandoned by their mother. It is a harsh environment and mortality is high. The 2015 pupping season saw solid ice and higher survivorship than in previous years with poor ice cover. Sea Dragon Nudibranch by @daviddoubilet This wonderful creature is a #nudibranch from #Bali #Indonesia called Bornella Anguilla, a soft bodied marine snail without a shell. This guy folds up like an eel and swims away when threatened. Their bright colors are a bill board advertisement to let other creatures saying “Dont Eat Me I Am Poisonous”. A #LionsMane #jellyfish looks more like a floating flower than the predator it actually is. The cold nutrient waters of the #BonnBay #Fjords in #Newfoundland support large numbers of these creatures that seem to prefer to hunt parallel to the shorelines in small coves. This fjord is located in #GrosMorneNationalPark Canada.
