This Chinese Village Is Being Buried By Greenery

We’ve featured some amazing destinations — there’s Zakynthos, Greece, and who can forget Jellyfish Lake in Palau?

Now, we head to China — Gouqi island, to be precise. This island is part of the Shengsi islands, which also belong to the Zhoushan Archipelago.

The archipelago relies heavily on fishing, and is home to the largest fishery in the nation. As China has industrialised rapidly, many have vacated the villages, resulting in them becoming abandoned. It is clear that the plants have taken over.

Why not explore there by chartering a private boat? Who knows what you’ll find!
