Famous actor Johnny Depp is selling his estate in the South of France for US$26 million.
This also includes many of Depp’s personal belongings, like furniture, DVD, and books. The small village is near Plan-de-la-Tour.
Depp bought the 37ac plot in 2001, and spent about US$10 million restoring it with terracotta roofs, stone and wood. It is estimated that this village was built in the early 1800s.
Many buildings, have been converted for his use — the church became a guesthouse, and what used to be a confessional is now a wardrobe. The restaurant is equipped with a professional kitchen, which Depp uses as a dining area. The other buildings were transformed into a laundromat and a garage, and are all made to look like businesses. These buildings are centred around a village square.
More exciting amenities include a skatepark with a halfpipe, two swimming pools, and a gym. The wine cellar in the main house has a Pirates of the Caribbean motif, with brightly coloured scarves and skulls.
The main residence is 4,300sqft, with five bedrooms, 3½bathrooms, and an art studio. The surrounding cottages are guest residences, equipped with a kitchen and bathroom.
This village can be bought at Côte d’Azur Sotheby’s International Realty.
